What it ultimately boils down to is this: travelling shoes, a strong urge to bond with people and tell their stories. I don't presume otherwise - I'm absolutely certain that it was a dumb amount of luck in my own life that allowed me to go out into the world and chronicle the mindboggling varriety of lives of others.
