My Focus and skills

I specialize in documentary portraiture, video reports, and work with NGOs on projects related to human rights issues and marginalized communities. I love photographing in low light, chiaroscuro situations.
I'm a native speaker of Slovak (and Czech), Bosnian (and Croat and Serbian), as well as proficient in English and German. I am at home in Italian; and understand both Slovenian and Macedonian well.

About Me

I was born in 1986 in pre-war Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Having a direct experience with being a ‘90s Balkan Wars refugee I developed an earnest interest in issues of human rights, forced displacement, and marginalized communities. As a photographer and a video-maker, I’ve worked extensively with NGOs such as Jesuit Refugee Service, Doctors Without Borders, and Consiglio Italiano per i Rifugiati, mostly on forced displacement issues. During my 4 years at the Slovak National Television, I was charged with production and organization of varied non-domestic shoots for the channel’s documentary department.

My personal and journalistic work has been published in Italian newspapers and magazines mostly (La Repubblica, Internazionale, Left).
