Adis and Medina Ćehić, Bosnian refugees who arrived in Australia in 1999, sought to reconnect their children with nature after years in Melbourne's urban environment. Moving an hour outside the city, they aimed to recreate the rural simplicity of their own childhoods in Bosnia. The presence of sheep on their property symbolizes the cultural bridge between their past and present, intertwining the values of both Australian and Bosnian lifestyles.

The Two Mosques, Noble Park

There are two Bosnian mosques in Melbourne. While the relationship between them has been on the mend in the recent years, the rift — both geographic and value-oriented — remains. Noble Park attract not only Bosnians, but Muslims from various South-East Asian countries.

The Two Mosques, Deer Park

The lands for this mosque were bought by the community to build both a mosque and a community center for Western Melbourne’s Bosnian muslim community. The mosque itself is open to prayer for any muslims in the area, however the communal activities are mostly attended by Bosniaks living in and around Deer Park.
